Have you registered for War Memorial Hospital’s Health Promotion Seminar Happy Feet?

On the 2nd of Febuary 2015 War Memorial Hospital will be holding a Health Promotion Seminar called Happy feet.

Wearing shoes which don’t fit properly, walking on hard surfaces or even just standing still can all take their toll on your feet.

Looking after your feet is one of the most important aspects of personal health care, whatever your age.

To make sure that your feet stay fit, you need to look after them, keeping them clean, warm, and well supported.

Never ignore minor foot troubles, they may not seem to matter very much at the time but can get worse unless you seek proper attention and treatment.

JewishCare’s Aged Services recommends this seminar to seniors as generally our feet serve us well, but they are subjected to a lot of stress and strain as we get older.

Venue: Day Centre War Memorial Hospital

125 Birrell St Waverley

Time: Mondays 10:00 am to 12:30 pm

For more Information and bookings contact Catriona Beaumont on 9369 0215 or catriona.beaumont@sesiahs.health.nsw.gov.au

Always seek advice about foot problems promptly by speaking to your GP.

Have you heard of Easy Care Gardening?

Easy Care Gardening is a not for profit organisation that provides gardening services for frail aged people, people with disabilities and their carers, with the intention of helping them to remain in their own homes for as long as possible.

Their service is subsided and people are means tested to be able to receive a service.
http://www.easycaregardening.org.au/

About Easy Care Gardening:

Their volunteer gardeners will weed, trim and lay mulch on the garden beds to slow weed growth and to help the garden become low maintenance, meaning that the client doesn’t need them to visit more than necessary.

The service is charged at a minimal cost of $12 per volunteer, and the mulch supplied is also at a very reasonable price, and delivered by volunteers prior to the garden team working on the garden.

They have volunteer groups that work Mondays to Saturdays.

If you or someone you know may be interested in this service please contact Robbie Cunningham on (02) 9983 1644 or rcunningham@easycaregardening.org.au

Community Assist Lawn mowing:
Community Assist Lawn Mowing clients receive a $20 subsidy each time the lawn is cut, for up to 12 cuts each financial year.

This service is provided in the following areas: Hornsby, Hunters Hill, Ku-ring-gai, Lane Cove, Manly, Mosman, North Sydney, Pittwater, Ryde, Warringah and Willoughby.

If you or someone you know may be interested in this service please contact 94888390.
